We are a specialist provider offering education, care and support for young people aged 14+ with SEND.
Located in the heart of Redcar, we have our own excellent facilities on site including specialist classroom, kitchen and sensory / chillout space. We also timetable swimming, gym and local visits during the week.
All of our support staff have years of experience working with young people with SEND. We will support students to achieve the outcomes set in their EHCP and champion their personal and social development skills. This includes supporting with academic studies or learning new independence skills.
A big part of our values is the Preparation for Adulthood and understanding what our young people want to achieve in the future. We will tailor our pathways to suit individual needs and can work towards short and long term aspirations. We will ensure that students have access to careers advice and guidance along the way.
Our curriculum offer can be differentiated to help all SEND students achieve, no matter how academic they are. We know it is important for all students to achieve some form of success in education. We will help students transition on to positive destinations whether that be in Education, Employment or other successful placement.
Every young person will be supported to improve their independence skills through our Personal and Social Development Curriculum. They will have opportunities to learn new life skills, access the excellent community and leisure facilities on site and increase their self-confidence in being a valid part of the community. They will also make friends along the way.
Students can continue to make educational progress and we have a range of provision on offer up to Level 2 (GCSE equivalent). This includes core Maths and English Functional Skills which students can use to move on to College/FE providers. We are also happy to offer vocational tasters should students wish to study in specific areas such as Catering, Hair & Beauty, Games Design, Coding and much more.
We provide a fully accredited Employability Curriculum that will help young people learn the skills required in the world of work. This includes support with writing their own CV, practicing interview techniques and knowing how to find jobs available in the marketplace. If appropriate, work experience can be arranged. Our aim is to help young people to succeed in adult life.
